The Hunger Games

I would describe myself as a former reader. Back in middle school, I always had my nose in a book. However since I have entered high school, I have not had enough time. I tend to usually read just what is assigned now. I used to have a pile of books from the library waiting on my nightstand to be read, but now typically my nightstand is empty.

I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I chose this book because I really enjoy diving into a new adventure and entering an entire new world where reality is no longer relevant. I have been meaning to read this book for a while now, but I never had enough time. I have heard nothing but outstanding reviews and recommendations of it however. And now the movie is coming out, so I really wanted to complete the series beforehand. My first encounter reading The Hunger Games was over Thanksgiving break. I could not fall asleep and I decided to start reading it. I was instantly hooked. I could not put it down, and actually finished the entire book on my first encounter (The lack of sleep was worth it.) The best part about reading this book is that you never know what is going to happen next. If you think the book is heading north, suddenly it spirals down south. There are so my surprises throughout the novel. It is not your standard predictable story. I was constantly at the edge of my seat reading this novel because nothing was definite. There were so many possibilities of what could happen, and you really felt as if the characters were right next to you. Not any sentence is this novel could be classified as boring.
